Title: Powered Active RF Metamaterials for Transformation Electromagnetic Devices
Abstract: Applications of transformation electromagnetics for radiation- and propagation- manipulating devices require electromagnetic material parameters that are extreme in the sense of large relative values, low loss, strong anisotropy, and broad bandwidth. These are challenging metrics for passive materials, which leads to substantial interest in non-passive approaches for realizing them. We report a variety of approaches for using powered active electromagnetic metamaterials to create extreme material parameters, and experimental measurements that demonstrate that the target material properties can be realized.
